The study is devoted to the analysis of international standards for the regulation of marital and family relations with the participation of a foreign element. This issue is being updated in the context of globalization and the increase in the number of marriages involving a foreign element. In the course of the research, general and special international legal documents on the regulation of marital and family relations related to the procedures of marriage, divorce, custody and guardianship, alimony obligations, property disputes were analyzed. The article uses methods of comparative analysis, a systematic approach to identify and characterize the specifics of different legal systems. The analysis revealed the existence of basic approaches to determining the applicable law in cases of disputes. The study highlights the importance of creating, harmonizing and complying with international standards for the legal regulation of international marriages, as well as harmonizing national legislation in order to ensure effective protection of the rights of participants in marriage and family relations.
