The General Prosecutor's Office of the RK in 2023 made a legislative initiative to amend the wording of Articles 251 and 252 of the Criminal Code of the RK by supplementing the mentioned norms with a new subject - employees of collection agencies. Currently there are discussions on the expediency and legality of legislative perception of the relevant amendments (additions). In particular, the Fund for the Development of Parliamentarism in Kazakhstan together with the Association of Collectors of Kazakhstan with the participation of specialists of the Department of Jurisprudence of the Institute of History and Law of the Abai KazNPU made an attempt to justify their disagreement with the position of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Relevant arguments in favour of maintaining the current wording of Articles 251 and 252 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan were expressed by the participants of the expert meeting held on 30 November 2023 in Astana.
