The scientific article considers the problems of practical realization of termination and change of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This issue is studied in the context of the analysis that citizenship is a basic component of the idea of statehood, citizenship is something else as a legal basis for the relationship between the individual and the state. The institute of citizenship serves as a basis for determining the legal status of a person, a set of his rights, freedoms and obligations, which are inextricably linked to the state of citizenship. The development of integration processes in the modern world and in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States is characterized by accelerated in human history mobility of people due to various factors. This is due to the increasing number of people going abroad, globalization of the world economy, illegal migration and other factors. The article shows that despite the achievements in the field of citizenship, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan regulating the termination and change of citizenship requires further improvement. The normative basis of the study was formed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the law “On Citizenship”, as well as international agreements on citizenship.  The purpose of the study is to analyze the problems of legal regulation of termination and change of citizenship in the conditions of development of integration processes, development of scientific-theoretical provisions and practical recommendations, taking into account the experience of foreign countries, peculiarities of functioning and prospects of development.
